差さし出だした舌したの先さきに
言こと葉ばになる前まえの本ほん音ねが揺ゆれていた

At the tip of the outstretched tongue,
truth trembled before becoming words.

木きの升ますに　白しろい米こめが満みち
静しずかな暮くらしの重おもみがそこに　宿やどっていた

The wooden measure brimmed with white rice,
holding the quiet weight of daily life.

朝あさ焼やけの空そらへ　気き球きゅうが浮うかび
心こころまで少すこしずつ　高たかくなっていった

A hot-air balloon rose into the dawn sky,
and the heart itself slowly lifted higher.

円まるい光ひかりの中なかに　静しずかな影かげが立たち
終おわりなき輪わが　夜よるを包つつんでいた

Within the circle of light stood a silent figure,
while an endless ring embraced the night.

「あと少すこしだけ」と囁ささやく声こえに
人ひとの欲よく望ぼうの長ながさが　測はかられていた

In the whisper of ”just a little more”
the endless reach of human longing was quietly measured.

頬ほお杖づえをつく静しずかな午ご後ご
言こと葉ばにならぬ疲つかれが　机つくえへ沈しずんでいた

使つかい込こまれた道どう具ぐのそばで
長ながい年ねん月げつだけが　本ほん当とうの技わざを育はぐくんでいた

誰だれかの通とおった印しるしが　風かぜに残のこっていた

まだ来きぬ運うん命めいが　静しずかに覗のぞいていた

青あお空ぞらへ伸のびびる凧たこを見み上あげ
少しょう年ねんの願ねがいいまで　風かぜに昇のぼっていった

Watching the kite climb into the blue sky,
the boy's wishes rose with the wind.

机つくえの下したから　猫ねこが見み上あげ
小ちいさな世せ界かいが　足あし元もとで息いきづいていた

From beneath the table the cat looked upward,
and a small hidden world quietly breathed below.

黄き色いろい卓たくの上うえに　一いち輪わの花はな
何なに気げない場ば所ばしょが　静しずかに際きわ立だっていた

Upon the yellow table stood a single flower,
making an ordinary place quietly remarkable.

霧きりの野のを越こえて　朝あさ日ひが昇のぼり
眠ねむっていた世せ界かいを　黄こ金がねに染そめていった

The morning sun rose beyond the misty field,
turning the sleeping world to gold.

笑わらい声こえの奥おくに　小ちいさな棘とげがあり
人ひとを傷やけどつける影かげが　軽かるく揺ゆれていた

Behind the laughter hid a tiny thorn,
and the shadow that wounds others gently stirred.

唇くちびるの前まえに立たてた一いち本ほんの指ゆび
「ただそれだけ」が　静しずかに空くう気けを変かえていた

単たん純じゅんな歌うたが　夕ゆう暮ぐれを明あかるくしていた

群ぐん衆しゅうの前まえに　静しずかに立たちながら
曲まげぬ信しん念ねんだけが　胸むねに灯ひっていた

Standing quietly before the crowd,
only unwavering conviction burned within her heart.

胸むねの名な札ふだを整ととのえながら
今日きょうも誰だれかのために　笑え顔がおを差さし出だしていた

Straightening the badge upon his chest,
he offered his smile once more for others today.
